Sanctuary Expansion Project

The Need

The Sanctuary provides safe shelter to 26 men on a nightly basis, and provide services through our outreach programs to both men and women who do not have access to food, clothing, showers, or a place to rest in their journey.  The Sanctuary is often at capacity, and through servicing the community RCV has estimated the city immediately needs 15 beds for women, and 25 more beds for the men to help the current homeless population being turned away from shelter due to lack of resources. 

The Goal

The goal is to increase capacity to 65 to accommodate the need for Shelter in Sarnia. River City Vineyard is working to add 40 more beds and proposing to exand the Sanctuary by strategically renovating and utilizing unused space in the building, including the filled in pool area.

The Plan

River City Vineyard needs a capital infusion to update and renovate what was originally the swimming pool area and create 40 more beds, to see this project move from planning to action. To learn more about the project and see the Sanctuary Business Plan click here.
